About the event

Gain hands on experience under the guidance of experienced beekeepers. We will open active beehives and perform inspections, pointing out what to look for, how to perform an inspection, how to light a smoker, and more. Please be sure to bring  your protective equipment for working around live bees.

This is a hands-on experience with four stations where beginning or newer beekeepers can review and learn about: equipment and hive placements, pests and treatments throughout the year, feeders and nutrition during the season, and then hands-on in the hives to identify queen, eggs and learn to manipulate frames. Saturday, May 4 from 10-12:30 p.m. at the Sisters of St. Joseph Barn, 1020 W. State Street, Baden, PA 15005. Bring you jacket, bee veil and gloves to get into the bees.     Regular Club meetings occur at Soergel Orchards in Wexford, PA.

    Meetings begin at 7:00p.m. with Club business discussed 7 to 7:30 p.m. and education and training from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
