Dwight currently is a regional director of the “Top of Ohio” region (western OH) of the Ohio State Beekeepers Association.
Dwight’s passion is promoting Sustainable Beekeeping, which creates low over-wintering losses, mentoring and educating beekeepers. He is currently working on several projects with Purdue University, Penn State University, Central State University and Kentucky State University on Feral Honey Bees.
Dwight will address some topics related to this time of the year: nutrition in dearth, mite treatments in heat, also what you might need to be doing now to prepare those bees for winter. Dwight always stresses the need for raising a local bee population with local queens and splits so he will be mentioning this as well as sharing some insights of his work with feral bee colonies.
